Demolition efforts started Thursday on the old Farmstead School property in Jasper.
The school was closed in 2011. The property, formerly owned by the Walker County Board of Education, is now expected to be transformed into a housing subdivision. The proposed subdivision would include approximately 60 homes on lots that are 7,500 square feet in size.Â
