New Temple Baptist celebrating 100 years

DORA — New Temple Baptist Church is inviting the community to celebrate the church’s 100th anniversary on Sunday, Aug. 28 at 10:30 a.m. The church serves Bagley, Corner and east Walker communities. In 2010, the church adopted the mission statement “Raising another generation for the glory of Jesus Christ!”

In 1922 New Temple Baptist Church started in the living room of Mr. J.D. Allums Sr. with 18 charter members. From 1922 to the present day many amazing God-honoring things have taken place with the most recent being the completion of the Manning Road Multipurpose Facility, providing room for future growth with a master plan that includes an education building for adults, children, preschool and youth, fellowship hall, sanctuary, a safe and secure playground and multi-sports field. This property will help better serve the community for the Glory of Jesus Christ.

From Pastor J.J. Creel,

“We are so humbled and blessed to stand with those who had such an awesome vision for the Bagley, Corner and East Walker Community when they started this wonderful church we know as New Temple Baptist. By God’s grace and His strength we continue to reach another generation for the Glory of Jesus Christ.”

New Temple Baptist Church is a Member of the Sulphur Springs Baptist Association as well as the Alabama Baptist Association and is located at 4501 Greathouse Road Dora AL.
