A Sipsey man is in the Walker County Jail on a $120,000 cash bond after allegedly pulling a gun and threatening to kill a 9-year-old (and his entire family) in the Sipsey Camp area of the town.
An arrest order for violating bond conditions was issued earlier this week on the suspect and deputies immediately went and took him into custody. Jemayel Akee Scott, 37, of Sipsey, was charged with first-degree felony stalking.
Additional charges of resisting arrest and fleeing or eluding a law enforcement officer were added.
Investigator Tony Reid put together the case involving the 9-year-old and formally charged the suspect.
District Judge Henry Allred found Scott to be a danger to the community and a press release from the sheriff’s said he is expected to remain in jail for the foreseeable future.
