Two individuals were arrested in Oakman on Tuesday and charged with abuse of a corpse.
Jordan Allen Lopez, 23, and Kayla Michelle Black, 27, both of Oakman, were taken into custody during a routing traffic stop near the four-way stop on Highway 269 in Parrish. The arrests were made by Captain Ralph Williams and Parrish Police Chief Danny Woodard.

Cayla Garner, 30, of Tuscaloosa, was reported missing to the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office on August 4. Her body was found three hours later in Walker County. The cause of death is still pending autopsy and toxicology by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences according to the Walker County Sheriff’s Office.
Carpenter said the case remains under investigation.
Abuse of a corpse is a Class C felony in the State of Alabama.
The Code of Alabama described abuse of a corpse as committing “the crime of abuse of a corpse if, except as otherwise authorized by law, he knowingly treats a human corpse in a way that would outrage ordinary family sensibilities.”
