WJLX to be holly, jolly 24/7

Local Christmas music listeners will have a new option on their radio dials to satisfy hearing hits like The 12 Days of Christmas, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Santa Claus is Coming to Town and other beloved favorites.

Beginning on Thursday, Nov. 24, WJLX 101.5 FM will flip to an all-Christmas music format — playing traditional, contemporary and novelty holiday favorites, 24 hours a day. The format will continue until Dec. 26, then the station’s normal classic hits format returns.

WJLX’s Christmas music format is being sponsored by Jasper Main Street and Country Financial agent Megan Cook.

“While there are many options for fans of Christmas music to tune to for their holiday hits, what makes ours special is that the format will be tailored to our local area,” WJLX station owner and general manager Brett Elmore said. “We will have coverage of Christmas parades, along with the promotion of community events and much more. It’s an endeavor we’ve wanted to undertake in past years and this year, we decided to make it happen. We think our listeners, both old and new, will enjoy it.”
