Accused kidnapper back behind bars

Sergeant Josh Edwards of the Walker County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division recently obtained a drug search warrant for a residence beside Love’s truck stop.

The Sheriff’s SWAT, Narcotics, and K-9 along with the Jasper Police Department Narcotics Division executed the search warrant on Monday. 

 The target of the investigation, Steven Parnell, is on probation/parole for three counts of Felony Kidnapping and Assault.

Investigators seized Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Parnell, 64, of Jasper, was arrested for Distribution of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

James Patrick McLane, 42, of Jasper, was arrested on a warrant for DUI Controlled Substance, Resisting Arrest, and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance. McLane was also charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Parnell’s case has been referred to probation officers with the Alabama Bureau of Pardons and Paroles.
