Arrest made during thrift store break-in

Just after midnight on Thursday, Jasper Police were called to America’s Thrift Store on Highway 78.

Upon arrival, officers observed a door that appeared to have been pried open. After making entry, officers located a man inside the store, dressed all in black.

The man, now identified as Gavin Parker Bramlett, 27, of Jasper, was detained inside the store and found to be in possession of a handgun.

Bramlett said he was there to meet a female employee of the store, and her vehicle was in the parking lot. Officers were able to reach the female employee by phone. She was not at the location, and said she had no plan to meet Bramlett. She said her car had a mechanical issue, and she had left it in the parking lot after work.

Officers have charged Bramlett with third-degree burglary.
