Festival of Lights shines in downtown Jasper

The Festival of Lights tree display on the Walker County Courthouse Square in downtown Jasper is a fundraiser for the Hope for Women organization.

The display features more than 60 Christmas trees, sponsored and decorated by local businesses, churches and civic groups. The event started in 2014 with 46 trees and has grown each year.

The Festival of Lights is the largest fundraiser for Hope for Women each year, bringing in an estimated $15,000 to $20,000. Hope for Women is a Jasper-based program that gives women with substance abuse issues the support needed to change their lives.
