Jasper Police Department’s Narcotics Enforcement Team on Monday executed a search warrant in the 500 block of Battle Creek Road in Jasper.
Investigators seized a total of 2.6 grams of fentanyl and 30 grams of meth from the residence throughout the investigation.
The resident of the house, Jimmy Joe Shehan, Jr., 58, was arrested and charged with 2 counts of trafficking fentanyl, 2 counts of distribution of meth and single count each of possession with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He also had 2 warrants for failure to appear.
Also at the residence, Bryan Walter Smith, 44, of Arley, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear.
“We appreciate the Walker County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in executing the search warrant, and their ongoing partnership with us to stop these drugs from entering our communities,” Police Chief J.C. Poe said.
Poe said law enforcement will continue its efforts to fight drugs in the community.
“This continues our commitment to targeting those who traffic and sell these dangerous drugs,” Poe said. “I’m proud of the work our investigators are doing to protect our citizens.”
