CARBON HILL — Carbon Hill controlled most of the girls varsity finals Saturday to defeat Dora 43-34 win to claim the championship.
Carbon Hill led 26-13 at halftime. The Bulldogs led by as many as 23 points at one point in the game. Dora made a run in the fourth quarter to end up falling by nine.
Dora had won the county tournament the past two seasons, while Carbon Hill has won the tourney seven times in the last 12 years.
Alleigh Keeton finished with 15 points to lead Carbon Hill. Kalee Edwards added 14 points. Sunnie Cerezo had five points and was named most valuable player of the tournament after strong performances in earlier games. Lyria Meadows led Dora with 13 points.
