Willie Moore, who previously served as director of the Jasper Parks and Recreation Department and now serves as director of the Oakman Park and Recreation Department, received a major award Tuesday from the Alabama Recreation and Parks Association (ARPA) annual awards banquet.
Moore, who is also the District 5 council member for the City of Jasper, was given the the Jim Spain Professional of the Year Award, the highest individual honor presented by the ARPA. The award recognizes outstanding service to the leisure service, recreation, parks or conservation profession through leadership or active involvement.
Moore was given the award at the ARPA annual conference in Orange Beach.
