Water Oak Villa recently opened in Jasper. The specialty care assisted living facility, also known as memory care, is designed and specifically created for those who suffer from Alzheimer’s and other forms of Dementia.
Water Oak Villa is located on Highway 257 (Curry Highway) in the Farmstead community. They have some residents, but are currently accepting reservations for more. It is a 16-bed facility made up of all private bedrooms and bathrooms.
The facility is owned by Sam and Leigh Watts, both Jasper natives who moved back to the area a few years ago.
“I have a passion for helping the elderly and after doing much research in our area on specialty care assisted living facilities, I saw there was a huge need in Jasper,” Leigh Watts said. “We applied for our CON (a permit that allows for the construction of a healthcare facility) and started our journey.”
Water Oak Villa recently held an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony by the Chamber of Commerce of Walker County.
