A Taste on Main highlights downtown Jasper

A Taste on Main, sponsored by Jasper Main Street, was held Friday night in downtown Jasper.

A crowd of around 75 people attended the event, which featured a 3-course meal prepared by Musgrove Country Club Chef Mark Johnston.

Jasper Mayor David O’Mary spoke before the dinner, highlighting the transformation of downtown Jasper over the last decade. “And it’s not finished,” O’Mary said. “Downtown Jasper will continue to be developed further, and I am excited to see what it will look like five years from now.”

The event was held as a way to highlight projects already completed by Jasper Main Street, but also as a way to remind the community about the Town Creek development project, including a pedestrian bridge to be constructed near the former Sherer Auditorium, which will soon be a new Jasper City Hall.
