The Parrish Police Department held an impromptu press conference early Tuesday morning to update the public on the search for a missing 9-month-old who was inside a car when it was stolen from a residence in Parrish on Monday evening.
Harlow Darby Freeman is a white female with brown hair and blue eyes. The child is approximately 26 inches tall and weighs approximately 20 pounds. The child was last seen wearing a tye dye onsie and light pink shorts.
Parrish Police Chief Danny Woodard said the Parrish PD was notified around 7 p.m. Monday of a vehicle stolen from a home at 312 Crest Avenue in Parrish.
“The victim of the car theft said his nine-month-old daughter was in the vehicle at the time it was taken,” Woodard said. “The police department, along with multiple agencies, responded to the scene and began an immediate search of the area. Unfortunately the child has yet to be located.”
Woodard confirmed an Amber Alert had been issued for the missing child.
“The main priority at this time is to locate the child,” he said. “All resources at the local, state, and federal levels are being utilized.”
The vehicle taken was a white 2009 Lexus RX350, tag number 3880AR8.
“If anyone has any information, please contact the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 800-The-Lost. I will not take any questions,” Woodard said. “I appreciate any support and prayers from the community and the citizens of Parrish. I want to urge if anyone has any information to please call 1-800-The-Lost.”
Parrish Mayor Bubba Cagle also spoke during the press conference, thanking those who have helped in the search for the child and urging anyone with information concerning the child to come forward.
“I would like to reiterate what chief said and thank the community for every mile they put in last night, for staying up here and looking for Harlow,” Cagle said. “We’re thankful for every agency that helped, every officer. Most of all we just urge anyone that has any information to bring Harlow home, please come forth. Please do your diligence and make this call.”
Cagle asked people to be continually looking until the child is found.
“We need you looking on your own, these dark spots, these hidden spots, making sure Harlow isn’t somewhere right under our noses,” he said.
