The Walker County Health Department alerted the Jasper Police Department on Thursday, Aug. 10 they had received threatening calls from an individual.
An investigation was opened and detectives arrested Corey Blackerby, 32, of Jasper, on one count of making terrorist threats.
Blackerby was placed in the Walker County Jail and released on bond later in the day. On Friday, August 11, police were alerted that Blackerby violated the terms of that bond and he was placed back in the Walker County Jail to be held without bond.
“I’m proud of how quickly our officers and detectives handled this situation,” Jasper Police Chief J.C. Poe said. “I also appreciate the assistance of the Walker County Sheriff’s Office in handling this matter.”
