Editor’s note: The following is poem recently written by The Community Journal’s publisher and co-founder James Phillips.
In October’s embrace, colors arrive,
Nature’s palette, vibrant and alive.
Leaves ablaze, a fiery display,
As autumn paints the world in its own way.
But beyond the trees, a parallel we find,
A person, like autumn, reveals their mind.
Showing their colors, bold and true,
Unveiling hues that make them unique too.
Just as leaves change, they too evolve,
Expressing themselves, a puzzle to solve.
Each shade and tone, a story to tell,
A kaleidoscope of emotions they dwell.
In October’s realm, nature’s artistry,
And in a person’s soul, their own tapestry.
Both bursting forth, with colors so bright,
A symphony of hues, a breathtaking sight.
So let us celebrate, this vibrant season,
And honor those who show their colors, with reason.
For in their authenticity, we can see,
The beauty of diversity, in you and me.Â
