Oktoberfest draws big crowd to downtown Jasper

By James Phillips, The Community Journal

Several hundred people turned out Saturday for the inaugural Oktoberfest in downtown Jasper.

The event was sponsored by Jasper Main Street, WealthArc Advisors, Jasper Family Clinic, Bivona Chiropractic and Bivona Family Denistry.

Tallulah Brewing Company offered several German-inspired beers, as well as food items. Black Rock Bistro was also on hand serving German dishes.

A stein competition was held with the winner being Straden McCarty and second place Jon Williams. Kenzie Hatchell won a youth brat eating competition.

Polka music rang out throughout the day, while Smashley rocked the stage at Tallulah to wrap up the night.
