PARRISH — The 14th annual Parrish Christmas Giveaway is currently underway and organizers are calling for community support to ensure the success of the event.
The initiative aims to provide new shoes, jackets, socks, underwear, and toys to each child in need. Last year, the event served dozens of families and nearly 80 children in the community, and this year, organizers hope to surpass that number.
“We must make sure every need is met,” Parrish Mayor Bubba Cagle said. “Let’s show these kids God’s love and grace by filling their hearts with love and joy.”
Families are invited to Parrish Elementary on Saturday, Dec. 16, to receive their Christmas presents. The event aims to create a memorable experience for the children and bring the community together.
“We are so excited to see the community come together and support this cause,” organizer Ryan Cagle said. “You can be a part of something great by being a sponsor, making donations, or volunteering your time. No matter how big or small, any and all help is appreciated.”
The Parrish Christmas Giveaway relies on donations from individuals, local businesses, and churches to make the event possible. Drop-off locations for purchased donations have been set up at Son’s in Parrish and Parrish Town Hall. Donations can be made until Dec. 16. Donation roadblocks were held in Parrish on Saturday.
For those who prefer to make a tax-deductible donation, an online option is available at https://tinyurl.com/xmasgiveaway2023. Alternatively, checks can be sent to Jubilee House, with “ATTN Christmas Giveaway” written on the envelope, and addressed to PO BOX 548, Parrish, AL 35580.
