Sen. Reed announces $150k in funding for Beacon House

Sen. Greg Reed (R-Jasper), President Pro Tempore of the Alabama Senate, today announces a total of $150,000 in funding over the last two fiscal years to Beacon House in Jasper.

“Beacon House does so much in our local community by empowering young women to grow, inspiring them to make healthy choices, and ensuring success in their lives,” said Senator Reed. “This funding reaffirms our dedication to the future of young women in our community by providing needed resources.”

“The Beacon House appreciates the support shown to us by Alabama Senator Pro Tempore Greg Reed” said Abbie Drummond, Board Member at Beacon House. “The Beacon House promotes healing, knowledge and stability by empowering teenage girls who need a second chance. This gift will help us to inspire healthy choices, growth, and opportunity for our girls to ensure success in life.”

Beacon House is a program of Concerned Citizens for Our Youth licensed by the State of Alabama Department of Human Resources that provides Moderate Residential Services to female children aged 12-17 by promoting healing, knowledge, and stability.
