5 Loaves Bakery to relocate to Jasper campus of Bevill State

Bevill State Community College is pleased to announce the arrival of Kelly Rigsby, owner of 5 Loaves Bakery & Café, and her customers to the Jasper campus.

The bakery and café will be located in the Frances Israel Cafeteria in the Wade Math & Science Building at 805 14th Street E, Jasper, AL 35501. The grand opening of 5 Loaves Bakery & Café is scheduled for Monday, February 5, 2024. Any updates regarding the opening will be shared on social media. Lavish Coffee Bar will continue to operate alongside the café.

The operating hours for 5 Loaves Bakery & Café will be Monday through Friday from 7am to 3pm, subject to change. The breakfast menu will feature convenient on-the-go options such as breakfast sandwiches, pastries, overnight oats and breakfast charcuterie. The lunch menu will include freshly made soup, salad, and sandwich items, as well as a daily special. The menu is expected to expand after the first two weeks of operation.

“I am extremely excited about this new venture. Being able to provide fresh and enticing menu options directly to the busy students and employees on campus, who may not have time for lunch excursions, is truly thrilling. Expanding our services to a new location also allows us to continue serving the wider community. Collaborating with the talented team at Lavish Coffee Bar is another exciting aspect, and I am confident that our unique offerings will complement each other. I would like to express my gratitude to President Hagood and the Bevill State staff for this exciting opportunity,” said Kelly Rigsby, owner of 5 Loaves Bakery & Café.

Dr. Joel Hagood, President of Bevill State Community College, stated, “5 Loaves Bakery & Café is a respected establishment within our community. The addition of food from 5 Loaves, along with Lavish Coffee Bar, will enhance the overall experience for our students, faculty, and staff. We also look forward to extending a warm welcome to the broader community, inviting all patrons of these exceptional businesses to become part of the Bevill State community. As YOUR community college, we extend an open invitation to everyone.”

Rigsby expressed her excitement about operating at Bevill State Campus, saying, “Offering a new service to the community and the campus is going to provide an opportunity for our community to learn more about this beautiful campus and what it offers to our students. I am looking forward to focusing more on the things I love, such as baking, food prepping, and catering. I am also excited about spending more time with my family and traveling. Thank you again to Jasper and Walker County for your continued support of 5 Loaves.”

In a Facebook post on Sunday, 5 Loaves announced that it will be closed until Monday, Feb.  5 due to the relocation. However, cakes and baked goods will still be available for order by calling 205-221-0343 between Monday and Friday from 8:30am to 3:00pm. The post expressed gratitude for the understanding and support of 5 Loaves’ customers during this time of transition and looked forward to serving them in the near future.
