We are excited to announce the Walker County Center of Technology’s Rising Star for the month of October is Karleigh Jackson. Karleigh is a junior from Jasper High School and is currently in the Walker County Center of Technology Cosmetology program taught by Tomeka Woods. She is the daughter of Kendra Anderson and Charlie Jackson.
Karleigh has earned several leadership positions while a student at WCCT and is very active on campus. She is currently the Vice President of the CTSO (Career and Technical Student Organization) Cosmetology. She has also been selected to serve as a Senator on the Leadership Council of WCCT. Karleigh served as an Honorary Ambassador during CTE Month for all activities on campus. Karleigh is a member of the National Honor Society of Jasper High School.
Karleigh has plans to graduate early to attend cosmetology school to get a quick start on attaining her cosmetology license. She hopes to one day be a cosmetologist and work in a positive environment. Karleigh currently works two jobs. She works at Green Tree Bedding and at Salon 107. During her spare time, she likes to do cosmetology, read, and spend time with her family.
In Karleigh’s words: WCCT has the best staff and students. It is an amazing place to help you figure out what you want to do in life. The WCCT community is truly the best place to be in high school.
