We are excited to announce another 2023-2024 Walker County Center of Technology Rising Star, Dylan Tidwell!
Dylan is a senior from Carbon Hill High School and is currently in the Welding program at the Walker County Center of Technology taught by Edward Poff. He is the son of Jeff and Anita Tidwell.
Dylan is a member of the Carbon Hill High School baseball team and has achieved A-B Honor roll at Carbon Hill High School. He was also selected to represent WCCT at the 2024 BSCC Torch Competition in Welding where he won 1st place.
In his spare time, Dylan enjoys hunting, fishing, and riding 4-wheelers. Dylan sees himself in 5 years having a career in welding while being settled down in Walker County.
In Dylan’s words: “WCCT is a pretty good place to come learn. There are nice people, teachers, staff, and students, who will help you in any way they can. I feel like you get more help here and more focus and conversations about your future, especially during your senior year.”
The Walker County Center of Technology Counseling Department and The Community Journal have partnered to present a new Rising Star each month as part of the Journal’s #CommunityFirst Initiative.
