Bevill State PR earns statewide awards

The Department of Public Relations, Recruiting, and Advancement at Bevill State Community College (BSCC) recently received five prestigious awards at the annual conference of the Alabama Community College System Public Relations Association (ACCSPRA), held last week in Orange Beach, Alabama. This recognition highlights the team’s exceptional efforts in marketing, public relations, and enrollment management across the state.

The BSCC Public Relations team includes Tana Collins-Allred, Director of Enrollment Management, Public Relations, and Recruiting; Sarah Allred, Admissions Recruiter; and Cole Richards, Admissions Recruiter. Their work was recognized in the highly competitive Pyramid Awards, which celebrate excellence in communications within the Alabama Community College System (ACCS).

Bevill State was honored with the following awards:

  • Pyramid Award (First Place) – Video Advertisement: Your Story Starts at Bevill State: Set Change (This commercial also won a Bronze at the 2024 Telly Awards for excellence in video and television across all screens).
  • Pyramid Award (First Place) – Viewbook
  • Award of Achievement (Second Place) – News Placement: Bevill State Unveils Alabama Infrastructure Training Center and Network Workforce Development Initiative
  • Award of Achievement (Second Place) – Logo Wear: Bevill Bound Bears ’24 T-Shirt
  • Award of Merit (Third Place) – Promotional Item: Bevill Chiller 40 

ACCSPRA’s Pyramid Awards recognize the outstanding work of marketing, public relations, and enrollment professionals at community, junior, and technical colleges across Alabama.

Dr. Joel Hagood, President of Bevill State Community College, expressed pride in the team’s accomplishments: “This recognition from ACCSPRA underscores the high level of creativity, dedication, and professionalism our public relations team demonstrates every day. Their efforts play a crucial role in communicating the mission and vision of Bevill State to our students and communities across the region.”

The mission of ACCSPRA is to enhance the image, strengthen, and promote awareness and public perception of the Alabama Community College System. ACCSPRA holds two meetings annually, providing opportunities for professional development and networking for marketing and communications professionals.
