Mayor Bubba Cagle is asking Parrish residents to participate in a survey as a part of an Economic Development Strategic Plan (EDSP).
Cagle said at the Tuesday, March 14, Parrish Town Council meeting the is partnering with the Regional Planning Commission of Greater Birmingham (RPC) on the plan to identify the town’s assets and strengths for development.
“We are already putting out our survey that goes with this,” Cagle said on Thursday.
Cagle said town residents, business owners and people who visit the town can participate.
Surveys will be available at the Parrish Town Hall. A QR code is also available to link to the survey online. The flyer with the QR code is posted with this article. The survey may also be taken at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/TJWWLTR
“We’re going to try to get as many surveys filled out in the next few weeks. We’re going to have a community meeting in April. We’ll try to decide the date and go over some of the data there, and then take the next step. The process is going to take about six months,” Cagle said.

- During the police report, Chief Danny Woodard explained the overtime the police officers were working and explained if he could hire two more A-Post certified officers at $20 per hour how it could benefit the town. The council approved to raise the hiring pay for police officers from $17 per hour to $20. per hour. Cagle said he hopes to have a police force with the chief, plus three officers. Parrish Police Department currently employs its chief, plus two officers.
- Cagle gave quotes for purchasing 702 garbage cans for the town: Sierra with logos and a 10-year warranty for $41,662.34 and Rebrig Pacific Company with a 10-year warranty for $51,425.97. The council voted to accept the bid from Sierra.
