Curry struggled in a 40-0 home loss to No. 4-ranked Northside Thursday night.
The Yellow Jackets forced a Northside fumble on the first possession of the game as the Rams were about to score. Several Curry defenders covered the ball in the end zone for a touchback.
From there, it was all Northside. The Rams had more than 350 total yards of offense en route to the win.
Northside led 14-0 at the end of the first quarter before building a 34-0 leaf at halftime. The Rams had a lone touchdown in the second half to earn the 40-0 win.
Curry (1-3, 0-2) will travel to Oak Grove (2-1, 1-1) next week. The game will be played at Hueytown High School on Thursday night, because stadium improvements at Oak Grove are not completed.
Fayette County 59, Carbon Hill 8
Undefeated Fayette County proved too much for Carbon Hill Thursday night, picking up a 59-8 win.
Five different Fayette County players rushed for touchdowns in the game. The Tigers also threw for two scores.
Fayette led 32-0 at the end of the first quarter. The Tigers increased that lead to 39-0 before Carbon Hill’s Walker Kimbrell connected with Cam DeJesus on a 45-yard touchdown pass with no time left on the clock. Devon Daniel scored the 2-point conversion. Fayette led 39-8 at halftime.
The Tigers led 53-8 after three quarters and scored once more in the fourth.
DeJesus had 11 catches for 102 yards and a score.
Carbon Hill travels to Oakman next week in another region game.
Lynn 37, Sumiton Christian 0
Sumiton Christian managed only 100 yards of total offense in a 37-0 loss to Lynn on Thursday.
Cole Kelly rushed for three touchdowns and Cale Tittle totaled 345 yards of offense (177 passing and 168 on the ground) to lead the Bears.
Sumiton Christian threatened to score late in the first quarter, but Lynn came up with an interception in the end zone. The Bears led 8-0 at the end of the first. Lynn pushed that lead to 24-0 at the half.
Sumiton Christian (1-2, 0-2) will host Brilliant in a region game next week.
