JASPER, Ala. (Community Journal) – The Crimson Tide are continuing to climb back up the rankings after sending Vanderbilt back to Nashville with their first loss of the season.
Alabama (4-1, 2-0) moved up two spots to No. 8 Sunday, helped not only by their win, but chaos above them.
Penn State and Texas both entered Saturday as top 10 teams, but found themselves unranked after losses to then-winless UCLA and Florida.
Miami, who handled Florida State Saturday moved ahead of idle Oregon into the No. 2 spot behind Ohio State.
The Seminoles dropped all the way to 25th after getting as high as No. 7 in week three.
The SEC dominates the middle of the top 10 as Ole Miss, Texas A&M and Oklahoma come in at No. 4, 5 and 6.
The conference has nine teams in the top 25.
