HUEYTOWN – The Curry Yellow Jackets fell short 41-26 in a Class 4A, Region 5 game to Oak Grove at Hueytown High School on Thursday night.
The game was moved up a day and played at Hueytown because Oak Grove’s stadium is undergoing renovations.
Curry led 8-7 early in the game, but trailed 14-8 at halftime.
Oak Grove scored twice in the third quarter to take a 28-8 lead.
Curry managed two scores in the fourth quarter, but the Tigers added two more scores of their own for the 41-26 win.
For Curry, Josh Day threw touchdowns to Jace Calloway and Noah Davidson. Kody Cooke ran for a score. Collin Page returned a kickoff for a score.
Curry falls to 1-4 on the year and 0-3 in region play. The Yellow Jackets will travel to winless Vina next week. Oak Grove is now 3-1 overall and 2-1 in the region.
