HAMILTON — Cordova earned its first win in Class 4A, Region 5 on Friday night, beating Hamilton on the road 41-21.
The Blue Devils did most of their damage through the air as senior quarterback Cody Headrick connected on 10-of-14 passes for 316 yards and four touchdowns. Jalen Armistad had four catches for 128 yards and a touchdown. David Odom had two catches for 95 yards and two touchdowns. Odom also carried the ball six times for 33 yards and a score. Kaden Williams had two receptions for 65 yards and a touchdown.
The Blue Devils led 27-0 after scoring on each of their first four possessions. Cordova led 34-14 at halftime.
Cordova scored once in the second half, while Hamilton also scored once on a fumble return for a touchdown to reach the 41-21 final
Cordova improves to 2-3 on the year and is now 1-3 in the region. The Blue Devils have a bye week next week, but will host county rival and region foe Dora on Sept. 30.
