Dora rolls in region win over Curry

Dora opened Class 4A, Region 5 play on Friday night with 61-14 win over county rival Curry.

Dora ran out to a 34-0 first quarter lead and led  54-0 at halftime, only running 14 plays in the first half.

Dora quarterback Kesean Pryor connected with Cleveland Jones for touchdowns of 52 and 25 yards, respectively, on the Bulldogs’ first two possessions. Pryor then hit his brother Korion Pryor for 54 yards to lead 20-0. Pryor, who played just over a quarter, finished 4-of-4 passing for 156 yards and three touchdowns.

Josh Williams scored next for Dora on a 1-yard run to give the Bulldogs a 27-0 lead. Dora’s final score of the first quarter came on a 55-yard run by Jayden Griifin. Dillon Watson hit the point after try to increase the lead 34-0.

Dora (2-1, 1-0) scored three second quarter scores. Williams scored his second touchdown on a 5-yard run at the 10:57 mark. Freshman quarterback Kolby Key scored a 5-yard keeper around left end for his first rushing touchdown as a Bulldog, giving Dora a 47-0 lead. Watson scored his first-ever touchdown on the next possession with a 1-yard run to increase the halftime lead to 54-0.

Curry (0-3, 0-1) scored midway of the fourth quarter when Kameron Miles capped a 10 play, 73-yard drive with a 1-yard run. Heath Miller added the PAT to make the score 54-7.

Dora capped their scoring when freshman Kaleb Pryor scored his first career touchdown on a 25-yard run. Willingham added the  PAT to increase the lead to 61-7. Kaleb Pryor ran for 75 yards on 8 carries. Curry scored again on a Miles 20-yard run for his second touchdown. Miles closed his night with 105 yards on 13 carries for the Jackets.

Dora returns home next Friday to host Haleyville. Curry will travel to Northside. Both are Class 4A, Region 5 games.
