The Walker County Arts Alliance is excited to announce the upcoming exhibition, Meet the Visual Artists, running from February 10th to March 24th, 2025. The show will feature the work of visual artists Hannah Lewis and Kat Murray, who serve as art instructors for Walker County schools. Meet the Visual Artistshighlights how Hannah and Kat’s personal artistic practices and process in the studio influence their teaching methods in the classroom.
Hannah and Kat teach 3rd, 6th, and 4th grade art classes across the county, bringing creativity into the classroom through a 7-week series of lessons in color theory with watercolor painting, value/shading, printmaking, and sculpture. Beyond Visual Arts, our in-school programs include Music, Pottery, Storytelling with Creative Writing, and DreamFit, a high-energy dance and fitness program designed for special needs students. We couldn’t offer these amazing programs without the invaluable partnership with the Walker County Board of Education and the generous support of the Walker Area Community Foundation. Their commitment allows us to continue inspiring and empowering students through the arts.
