Kevon Samuels, a former Jasper Viking now in his freshman year at Maryville College in Tennessee, accumulated seven receptions for 189 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday’s 56-17 victory at LaGrange. The first-year wideout from Jasper caught seven passes, including touchdowns of 65 and 25 yards. Samuels in the game averaged 27 yards per reception. The effort earned Samuels the USA South Rookie of the Week for this week.
Samuels leads the USA South in receiving touchdowns with six and yards per catch at 21.8. He’s second in the conference in receiving yards with 479 on 22 receptions.
