Walker County lawmakers play in benefit softball game

The Alabama House of Representatives and State Senate partnered on Wednesday with the Montgomery Biscuits to hold a “Battle of Goat Hill” charity softball game benefitting tornado victims throughout the state’s Black Belt region.

The Senate, with Senate President Pro Tem Greg Reed (R-Jasper) as coach, defeated the House 12-6. District 13 Rep. Matt Woods (R-Jasper) and District 14 Rep. Tim Wadsworth (R-Arley) played for the House team.

This was the fifth time since 2000, the two chambers have faced off in a softball game with the Senate now holding a 3-2 series lead.
