Art in the Park set for May 13

The Walker County Arts Alliance will be hosting the 18th Annual Art in the Park festival on Saturday, May 13 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Gamble Park on Gamble Avenue in Jasper.

Art in the Park is a juried show with over 65 artists from around the southeast – primarily Alabama. The original hand-crafted art includes painting, drawing, wood carving, stained glass, sculpture, pottery, fabric arts, jewelry, and much more. Throughout the day, enjoy children’s activities, face painting and dance troupes including Athletic Arts and Marilyn Sanders Performing Arts Center!

Come and enjoy the beautiful, shady grounds and gently flowing creek of Gamble Park, adjacent to the Jasper campus of Bevill State Community College, while browsing the
best local arts and crafts. This spacious park features a paved walking trail, brand new playground, picnic areas, and food vendors on site. Ample parking will be available near the park on the Bevill State campus with designated handicap parking adjacent to the park.
“We are excited to once again be presenting Art in the Park! We are keeping an eye on the weather and saying our prayers! If wet weather threatens to spoil the fun in the park, we will make announcements letting everyone know if we move the festival to the Jasper Mall. We are so grateful to all our artists, volunteers, board members, and the
City of Jasper for helping us put together a great show. We look forward to seeing
everyone there!” said Kate Gurganus, Executive Director WCAA
Directions to Jasper’s Gamble Park from Birmingham: take I-22 to the first Jasper
exit (Industrial Blvd.), turn left off Industrial Boulevard onto Hwy 78 West, turn left onto S. Walston Bridge Road, and left onto Gamble Avenue.
Please contact Kate Gurganus at [email protected] or 203-221-1711, if you have any questions.
