WCCT Rising Star: Logan Preston

We are excited to announce that one of Walker County Center of Technology’s Rising Stars for the month of May is Logan Preston. Logan is a recent graduate from Cordova High School Class of 2023 and was in the Welding program taught by Edward Poff. He is the son of Brannon Preston and Stephanie Preston.

Logan is certified in Stick and Hard wire and most recently signed an apprenticeship with Ironworkers Local 92.

In Logan’s spare time, you can find him welding, working on cars, cutting grass, or just working on something in general.

His overall goal is to be the best he can be. In five years he’d like to see himself successfully working with the Ironworkers, owning a home and property, and being debt free.

In Logan’s words: The teachers at WCCT are good! They explain the subject and make it easy to understand, and they have passion for the subject. The teachers have connections to industry for work. They also treat us with respect in a work-like atmosphere.

The Walker County Center of Technology Counseling Department and The Community Journal have partnered to present a new Rising Star each month as part of the Journal’s #CommunityFirst Initiative.
