Johnson named CEO of Walker Baptist Medical Center

A healthcare veteran with more than 25 years of administrative experience, Sean Johnson is appointed chief executive officer of walker Baptist Medical Center.

“Sean has always focused on making himself a visible, accessible, and inclusive CEO,” said Brookwood Baptist Health CEO Jeremy Clark. I know he will bring those same qualities to Walker and we’re excited to have him on board.”

Johnson has served as CEO for six hospitals, most recently at Riverside Medical Center in Franklinton, La. Prior to his time at Riverside, Johnson served as CEO and oversaw the opening of Trinity Regional Hospital in Sachse, Texas. Johnson’s time at Trinity consisted of standing up the 92-bed facility with 13 emergency department rooms and four operating suites while also directing the process of gaining accreditation and licensure requirements. Johnson was also instrumental in the recruitment of 110 employees, four general surgeons, three cardiologists, three gastroenterologists, two podiatrists and two pain medicine physicians for an inpatient and outpatient surgery center.

Additional CEO roles held by Johnson include Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe, La., Baptist Medical Center Attala and Yazoo, Kosciusko and Yazoo City, Miss., Monroe Regional Hospital in Aberdeen, Miss., and Quitman County Hospital in Marks, Miss.

Johnson received his Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from the University of Mississippi. He continued his education and earned his Master of Health Administration from the University of Southern Mississippi.
