Cordova student named the WCCT Rising Star

We are excited to announce that Walker County Center of Technology’s Rising Star for the month of November is Logan Partain, a sophomore from Cordova High School currently in the Diesel Technology program taught by John Carlton.

He is the son of Mark and Shonda Partain of Jasper, Alabama. Logan is a member of the Boy Scouts and is currently working on attaining Eagle Scout.

Logan is an outstanding CTE student, as he is enrolled in two CTE programs, Diesel Technology and Precision Machining.

“WCCT gives you not only trade skills but life skills that you will carry with you in life, such as respect and employability skills,” Partain said

In his spare time, he likes to do anything outdoors which includes hunting, fishing, and working on tractors.

He plans to pursue a career in residential and commercial landscaping using the skills he has learned at WCCT and eventually opening his own landscaping business.

The Walker County Center of Technology Counseling Department and The Community Journal have partnered to present a new Rising Star each month as part of the Journal’s #CommunityFirst Initiative.
