District 2 Walker County Commissioner Jeff Burrough provided an update on Monday concerning the Smith Chapel Bridge project.
Burrough said a pre-construction hearing was held on Tuesday, March 21 and work began on the bridge the following day.
The commissioner did not give an expected date for when the project will be finished.
