Thursday night, a couple and their kids were home when an intruder broke in the back door of their home at a residence off of Walston Bridge Road.
The homeowner took the subject down and held him until deputies could arrive.
Deputies took the subject into custody.
An ambulance was called to take the subject to the emergency room to treat injuries sustained during the burglary.
The case was turned over to Investigator Jason Bridges.
Randall Craig Whisenhunt, age 64 of Jasper, was arrested for Burglary 2nd, Criminal Mischief 3rd, and Criminal Trespass 3rd.
Public records show that Whisenhunt had two Attempted Murder charges back in 1985.
