HALEYVILLE — Congressman Robert Aderholt announced earlier this week that he has nominated a Jasper student from the Fourth Congressional District to attend the United States Air Force Academy.
Alexander Price Wilson of Jasper, who is a student at Jasper High School, has been nominated by Aderholt to join the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He is the son of Rod and Tina Wilson.
“It is one of my honors and privileges as a Member of Congress to each year nominate outstanding young people from the Fourth District to our nation’s service academies,” Congressman Aderholt said. “The service academies are renowned for molding future leaders, not only of our military, but also of our country, communities, businesses and families.
This is half the process; the USAFA now has to extend an appointment to Wilson, who should know no later than mid-April if he joins the 2028 class.
“Thank you to everyone who has prayed for this to happen in this great kid’s life,” Tina Wilson said in a Facebook post. “God has been so generous to us, and I can’t wait to see what He has in store for my middle’s life. I’m grateful.”
