Two arrested in Cordova during active burglary

CORDOVA – Two Walker County residents were arrested and charged with third degree burglary and third degree theft of property in Cordova on Wednesday.

Jason Scott Posten, 41, of Cordova, and Vickie Lynn Crosby, 37, of Jasper, were arrested by the Cordova Police Department on the scene of an active burglary.

Posten was also charged with obstructing justice using a false identity after providing police with a false name.

While on routine patrol, Cordova Police Chief Krimson Culverson noticed a vehicle at a residence that he had not seen before. Shortly after, the homeowner called in to report that her home was being broken into.

Culverson arrived to find Posey carrying items to the suspects’s vehicle, which was filled with household items from the residence. The homeowner later arrived and identified the items as belonging to them.

According to a release on Facebook, Posten had warrants out for his arrest from Dora Police Department, Walker County Sheriff’s Department and Winston County Sheriff’s Department.
