Two men arrested in Parrish burglary case

Two men were arrested in Parrish on Thursday and charged on various degrees of theft.

Brandon Burnett, 37, of Parrish, has been charged with third degree burglary twice, theft of a vehicle and first degree theft of property. David Parker, 52, of Quinton has been charged with theft of a vehicle.

The arrests stem from a reported burglary on Gant Lane called into the Parrish Police Department on August 24.

The suspects left the inside of the home “severely damage,” according to Parrish Police. Several items belonging to the owner of the home, who is deceased, were stolen, including a vehicle, sea doo and other items.

Some of the stolen items, including handmade instruments built by the deceased, were recovered at a residence on Old Tuscaloosa Rd. in Parrish.

“We are still searching for the remainder of the violins,” Parrish Police Chief Danny Woodard said in a statement on Facebook. “These items are obviously irreplaceable to the family, and we are continuing to follow up on several leads. The Parrish Police Department works hard to solve every crime that occurs, especially ones that involve taking advantage of families of a loved one that has passed away.”

Both men are in custody and were waiting to be transferred to Walker County Jail as of Wednesday night.

Parrish Police said this is an active investigation and more arrest are possible. Anyone with any information is asked to call the Parrish Police Department at (205) 686-9928 or send an email to [email protected].
