Oakman man charged with trafficking meth

OAKMAN – Walker County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Steve Legg and K9 Maverick were on patrol Saturday evening in Oakman when Legg observed a red truck turning without a signal, and he conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle beside Oakman High School.

K9 Maverick alerted on the vehicle, which led to a search for drugs. Approximately 43 grams of Methamphetamine was recovered from the vehicle.

One person was taken into custody as a result of this stop. Legg turned over the drugs to Narcotics Sgt. Josh Edwards, who took over the investigation.

Bert Randolph, 60, of Oakman, was arrested for trafficking methamphetamine.

Randolph is also facing a probation revocation as a result of Tuesday’s arrest.
