Two arrested in WCSO drug raids

The Walker County Sheriff’s Office SWAT, Narcotics, and K-9 teams executed a search warrant Wednesday night on 4th Ave West in Sipsey. 

 Sgt. Josh Edwards, of the Sheriff’s Narcotics Division, obtained the warrant after investigating drug distribution at the residence.

Investigators recovered 126 grams of Methamphetamine, 86 grams of Marijuana, a Glock handgun, and drug paraphernalia. One arrest was made.

Deangelo Marcellous Smith, 44, of Sipsey, was charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine, Distribution of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Marijuana 1st.

The raid team followed up the Sipsey warrant with a drug search warrant on Sardis Cemetery Road in the Lynn’s Park community. A drug investigation of the residence led Narcotics Investigator Jim Browne to obtain the search warrant.

Investigators seized Methamphetamine, Marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and made one arrest.

Phillip Joseph Watts Jr., 40, of Cordova, was arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
