JPD narcotics team arrests Parrish man for trafficking fentanyl

Agents from Jasper Police Department’s Narcotics Enforcement Team, in conjunction with narcotics deputies from Walker County Sheriff’s Office, arrested Kevin Lavar Cooley, 45, of Parrish, for drug trafficking (fentanyl) during a search warrant at 2394 American Junction Road in Parrish on Tuesday morning.

Jasper’s Critical Incident Response Team provided security and entry for the operation. After a search of the home, Cooley was located hiding in the attic.

Cooley was on probation for an arrest by the Walker County Sheriff’s Office in August of 2022 for drug trafficking (fentanyl).

“I’m proud of the work our department is doing to combat this incredibly dangerous drug,” Jasper Police Chief J.C. Poe said. “We have to find a way to keep the people who are bringing this lethal drug into our communities off the streets. This revolving door is putting the lives of citizens in danger.”
